Unfortunately marriage applications for any year seem to give very little
information. I know my own from 1969 gives only our names, ages, and whether
we were previously married, and I never signed it, my groom applied for it and
signed it, I never had anything to do with it. I think the only time a
parent's name might appear on them is if the bride or groom is underage and
permission needed to be given.
I recall an interesting family story about one of my relatives from the
early 1900's. She had a suitor but these days we would call him a stalker. He
kept after her to even allow him to court her, but she wanted nothing to do
with him. He actually applied for, and was given a marriage license and
attempted to get her to marry him by force. Family history says that her father
and brothers managed to step in and "convince" him to go away and leave her
alone.
If you don't know dates of birth or bride's maiden name they would be useful
but otherwise probably not much.

I have the marriage licenses but I was hoping there would be some more
family information on the applications.
