The 1930 federal census for Minnesota has arrived at the
Minnesota History Center Library. To give researchers a
chance to spend some quality time with the records, staff
will
host a special Sunday event on April 21. Just 25
researchers at
a time will be allowed entry to the Hubbs Microfilm Room to
use the 59 brand new rolls of census records. Staff will be
on
hand to lend assistance. The $19.30 fee includes
refreshments
and four free photocopies. Patrons can register for one of
two
sessions: noon to 2:10 p.m. and 2:30 to 4:40 p.m. The
remainder of the library, including the Weyerhaeuser
Reference Room, will be closed. Tickets are available in
advance from the library's Copy Services Center or by
telephone with a credit card, 651-296-2143. To learn more
about the census, see http://1930census.archives.gov/
