Dear Listers,

I have been trying for over 30 years to find the exact death date of my
gggrandmother, Evaline Arnold Walker. Evaline and William S. Walker came to
Martin County from Maine about 1868 and lived in Rutland and then in
Fairmont.
William d from Typhoid in 1874 and Evaline was deceased by Dec of 1894.

I have the following obit with no date or name of newspaper which says:

"Mrs. Walker, after a long, lingering illness, passed away Saturday morning.
She had been a resident of Fairmont for many years and leaves an extensive
circle of friends and relatives to mourn their loss. A family of three
survives her, two members, Miss Ada and Stephen A. Walker, living in
Fairmont, to whom the sympathies of the community will be generally
extended, also to her daughter, Mrs. A. R. Payne, living in Washington.
The remains were interred Sunday, Rev. T.A. Jones officiating."

A couple of small articles on the back of the obit are dated in the month of
May and I have narrowed the years down to 1892 or 1893 (perhaps 1894 but not
as likely). I sent for a death certificate but none was found. So, at this
point I know she died on a Saturday in May, probably in 1892 or 1893. She
was deceased when her daughter, Ada Walker, d in Dec of 1894 in Fairmont.
(They may be buried in the same place.)

I believe she is buried in Lakeside Cemetery as that is where other family
members are buried, but I don't know. I have never located the grave of her
husband, William S. Walker, who d Jan 1874.

Is there anyone on the list who lives near this cemetery who would be
willing to check to see if Evaline is buried there? She is not on any of
the cemetery lists that are published but I understand they are incomplete.
I am wondering if the cemetery has any record of her or her daughter, Ada.

Any help would be very much appreciated.
