I recently purchased the most interesting Morrison County historical books.
I found John Kraemer's name on page 77 of the book by Maurice A. Faust, "Pounded By Tramps: A Probe Into the Dark Side of Local History." This book takes a look at crime in the early 1900's. Mr. Kraemer was listed as a juror for a murder trial, and he was listed as being from Granite.
I purchased four books at the time, and couldn't wait to get them. I read them cover to cover. I think the bookstore was called Bookinitontheweb.
I found an item on my Grandmother in the book. I was quite surprised, and it is too bad all of them are gone now. Also, I found that my Great-grandfather was Chief of Police!
I also purchased "Murder at the Darling Church," by N. Joan Nelson-Vetsch. It was very interesting, lots of names in it.
I've been trying to find information on my grandfather, and he was from that general area. His parents came from Sweden, and he was later adopted when his dad left and mother died.
It made me happy and sad to read of the old folks, all gone now. I wish I had more time to ask about things.
Must have been in the '70's, My Grandmother gave my mother a copy of the book, "Voices of Yesterday" by Charles Martin. Grandma made handwritten notes in the book. I don't have it here (we just moved - it is in storage.)
Best wishes with your search,
J. Doyle
