Hello,I'm not related to this family but I
came across this obit in some copies I
had printed up from the local library here
in Chattanooga,Tenn,The newspaper is
the Chattanooga TIMES.

>CHAPIN-Gaillaird (Joe) F.,73,of McCahill Rd.,Route 5.,died in a local
hospital
early Sunday morning.Survivors are hs
wife,Mrs.Mary Hicks Chapin,of Chattanooga; three sons,Henry E.,of
Charlotte,N.C.;
James R.of Murfreesboro,Tenn.,and
Gaillaird R.Chapin,of Chattanooga.;three sisters,Mrs.Maude Tilford,of
Willow Lake, S.D.;Mrs.Ada Sherman of Goodwin,S.D.;
Mrs.Alice Sweeney of Sioux Falls,S.D.;
two brothers,Mr.Lewis Chapin of Forester, Minn.,and Mr.Grant Chapin of
Pine City,
Minn.,and three grandchildren.
Mr.Chapin had been a resident of Hamilton Co. since 1921.He was a
retired steam-
fitter and a member of the Plumbers &
Steamfitters Local No.43.He was a member of the New Hope Lodge 583
F&AM.He was a
member of the Looney's Creek Methodist
Church.Mr.Chapin was a veteran of World
Wars I ad II.Funeral servces will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the
Coulter
Chapel,with minister H.E.Ashley
officiating.Interment will be in the
Chattanooga Memorial Park.Active
pallbearers will be members of the Red
Bank Lodge 717 F&AM.Honorary pallbearers will be members of Local No.43
Plumbers
and Steamfitters.Please omit flowers,and those wishing may send
contributions to
the American Cancer Society.
