Olia Einerdatter Kokkin (1838-1915) from Hedmark, Norway, married Christian Melsness (b.1838). After living in Dakota County Minnesota, USA, they moved to Polk County MN. Their children included E. O. Melsness and C. Melsness who were involved in politics. A daughter was Tillie (Mrs. Carl) Paulson. Olia's brother was John Einersen Kokkin (1836-1908) who married Berthe Marie Bergers(d) of Rundberget (1846-1922). John and Berthe lived in Scott County, MN. While living in Scott County, John Kokkin's family also used the surnames Johnson and Einerson.

Included in this group were Martin and Anne Christiansen, Eberhard Kalgaard and his wife Ane Mathia Bergers(d) of Rundberget. The Kalgaards moved to North Dakota. I think the Christiansens went to Polk County MN.

I have information about this Kokkin family and will share.

C. Harper
