1920 US census lists a Norway born John J. Alrich living in Mille Lacs County, MN -- not Polk Co. He is listed as 56 yrs old. Source: US National Archives Microfilm Series: T625 Roll: 845 Page: 30

If the surname is 'mispelled' in the census index - could not search further because no reference dates for this man were supplied.

Helge's sister-in-law in the 1920 census (the one with the Alrich surname) is listed as born in Minnesota....

1910 census for Polk Co. lists a very very old Joseph Alrich (and his family still living at home, parents born in Norway children in Minn. and ND.) King township. Source: US National Archives Microfilm Series: T624 Roll: 716 Page: 58
