Catholic records. Early Fort Snelling was served by missionary priests
from St. Gabriel in Prairie du Chien. Records survive.

Mary Elise Ashmore of Prairie du Chien works at the Villa Louis historic
site and the library in Prairie du Chien. She's been involved in
transcribing early records from St. Gabriel's. I am not sure if the
records are at the church or the library. Here's a link to the library
