Henry Liefer Sr was born 2 Feb 1835, somewhere in Hanover, I have only one known brother, Christian, born 11 Oct 1840. Christian's obit states he was born in Borstal, Hanover. Henry immigrated approx 1867 and Christian followed in 1870 (I have seen his immigration papers). They might be too old to be your Minna's brothers, perhaps uncles?
Both Henry and Christian named their only sons Henry, I'm thinking this may have been their father's name. Christian also had a daughter named Minnie. I have some info from another Liefer family that settled in IL, but I haven't been able to connect them to my Liefer brothers. I didn't see a Minna born 1860 listed in the IL info either. The IL family has Borstel and Hagen, Hanover listed as locations. Again this family had sons listed as Henry and Christian. Any clue on where in Hanover your family came from?
