Belle Plaine Herald, September 17, 1942. Funeral of Mrs. Gertrude Buesgens Held Thursday The funeral of Mrs.GertrudeBuesgens was held last Thursday, September 10, with requiem mass at Sts. Peter and Paul's church, Father Mueller officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery with six of her grandsons carrying her to her last resting place, namely, Elroy, Gerald, Francis and Harold Buesgens, Joe Leuwer and Bert Soller. Mrs. Gertrude Buesgens, nee Gertrude Williams, was born at Victoria, Minn., in 1867, and therefore attained the age of 75 years and 12 days. When she grew to womanhood she married Michael Buesgens, who preceded her in death five years ago. To this union eleven children were born, of whom nine are living, namely, Peter, George, and william Buesgens, Mrs. John Leuwer and Mrs. Tony Soller of Belle Plaine, Mrs. Matt Neisen and Mrs Harold Pangburn of Marschall, Mrs. George Keller and Ben Buesgens of St. Paul. There are 46 grandchildren and six great grandchi!
ldren. Deceased died on September 7 at the home of her son Peter. Those that came to the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Matt Neisen, Loretta and Bernice, Mrs. Frank Neisen, Mr and Mrs. Harold Pangburn, Betty andJerry Nichols and Mr. and Mrs. Wallace White, from Marshall; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Buesgens, Mr. and Mrs. George Keller, and Mrs. Mary McQuade from St. Paul; Mr. and Mrs. William Williams Jr. Mr. and Mrs. Theo. Kramer, Mr. and Mrs Joe Hentmaker, Mrs. Anna Kelzer, of Victoria. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Williams, Clarence Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Buesgens, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Buesgens, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Buesgens, and Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Schutrope od Chaska; Mr. and Mrs. Gerhard Moonen, Mr. and Mrs. John Buesgens, Ben Hess, Henry Eiden, of Cologne; Mrs. Minnie Gelhaye, daughter and son of Shakopee; Mr. and Mrs. Anton Schmeig, Mr. and Mrs. W. Kerber of Chanhassen; and many from our nearby community.
There was 2 churches in Belle Plaine then, St. Peter and Paul and Scared Heart?. Joined together, now called Lady of the Prairee.
