Peter Hartmann, born 11 May 1833 in Dromersheim, Germany is the son of Johann Adam Hartmann born 01 Jan 1786 and Gertrude N. Stein born 16 Oct 1802.

Adam and Gertrude and eight of their children emigrated from Germany through the port of LeHavre on the ship Stormaway, arriving in the U.S. port of New York on July 8, 1854.

The Hartmann family left Germany in April, 1854. They arrived in the USA in New York on a ship called Stormaway on July 8, 1854. They then settled in Marystown, Scott County, Minnesota.

Adam and Gertrude sold land to their son, Anton, in 1857 and also a parcel of land to Phillip, another son, in 1859.
Adam Hartmann was married twice. His first wife was Ottilia Fleck. They had four sons.
