I have Catharina Macke Grunding (widow) who married Ferdinad Vornbrock in
New York before they moved to Meire Grove in 1872. They had one son, John,
who died and then Catharina died also - abt 1842. Buried in St. John's
Cemetery, Meire Grove. Ferdinad remarried a Mrs. Kemp (?) and started his
3rd family.
Catharina Macke Grunding (from Germany) was the wife of Anton Grunding and
mother to Johann Heinrich Grunding (Henry, Hy)(all born Germany), who was my
grandfather. I have been trying to get information about Catharina and her
daughters - Johanna Grunding and Josepha Grunding - Johanna married George
Mairose (they had no children and I have no information on their family) and
Josepha Grunding who married Henry Dueker (I have their family history).
Some of the children of Johann Heinrich Grunding/Gruending and Catharina
Macke Grunding/Gruending made their way to Saskatchewan, Canada to homestead
in the early 1900's mostly around St. Benedict and Cudworth areas.
I am also trying to get information on Catharina's burial in Meire Grove and
any other information that I can get my hands on about her and her
siblings - Bernard Macke and Wilhemenia Macke who married Theodore Werre.
Anybody have any information on these families?
Diane in Saskatchewan, Canada
