My late father, Glendon Gadway Seal, grew up in Verndale MN. He was born in 1913 (in Wadena). His grandfather was a Dower and his grandmother was a Gadway. During part of his adult life he lived and worked in Staples in the creamery.

In 1970, I served in Viet Nam with a soldier named Robert ('Boots') Gadwa, from St. Paul, MN (I lived in Minneapolis). We jokingly called each other 'cousin', among other names. A Gadwa family researcher later determined we were 5th cousins!

My son's name is also Glendon Seal (b. 1984), named for my dear dad. Watch for him in Mid-Continent Conference college baseball the next 3-4 years!
