No I am not related to either family, I have a great deal of
information accumulated over the years researching my
families in Ottertail and Wadena counties so I just
sometimes try to help out others thru the queries boards
as a way of paybacks for other people who have helped
me thru message boards. I have to go to work right
now but will get back to you soon, there is perhaps
more I can scratch up. I didn't find much on the
Theilens, is there any other spelling to that name,is it
of German origin? or other.But I didn't play around much
with variations the first go round, the Backes/Bacus/Mertz
have enough variations to boggle the mind as it is. anyway
that info I sent seemed to "fit" and from your reply you seem
to think so as well,great! I subscribe to most of the data
bases for gen/family history, have my own contacts, resources in my library in my home so will try to help
out as I can. I'll get back to you,work calls. craig
