The largest cemetery in Washington County is Fairview Cemetery in Stillwater, and the County Historical Society, which was given access to the sextons' records, last year transcribed interments from 1868 to 1906. A new book includes the sextons' records and the re-internments from other area cemeteries.
People from the earliest days of Washington County history are buried there, including two veterans of the War of 1812 and Union and Confederate veterans, said Brent Peterson, executive director of the historical society. The historical society is now accepting orders for the book. The cost is $15, plus $3 shipping. For more information, contact Peterson at (651) 439-5956 or visit http://www.wchsmn.org
