I just checked ancestry.com and see that your Benjamin was in Marine, Washington Co., MN in 1860, 1870 and 1880 censuses. By 1900 and 1910 his wife Rachel is living with their son Frank P. Allen in Township 133, Cass Co., MN listed as a widow. If Benjamin didn't die in Washington Co., MN you might want to explore Cass Co., MN.
