I am not in your county, but share your feelings about this activity. This is the first time I have even heard of geocaching! I don't think I am a "mean" person, but I don't like people on my property without permission, and ususally not even then! We had an old couple visiting a cemetery and they drove through a hot wire fence. It was two years before I found the reel of poly wire that was hanging on the fence, and I don't have the time (or inclination) to take people around . Does sound mean, doesn't it? My; thought is this is private property, not a public park. GD

My past experience with geo-caching has not been the best in the
world. While I am sure the intent is just to have fun and wander
around the countryside it does at least border on trespassing and
there is a chance for property to be damaged.
The couple of events I am familiar with neither property owner was
asked for permission to place the cache on their property. Both of
these definitely were considered trespassing, although no charges
were filed. Not only were the geo-cachers found on the property
without permission, others were caught on adjoining lands trying to
make a short cut, or were lost because of poor directions or
navigating skills.
I personally will not be giving out a list of locations when there is
the chance for irreparable damage to be done by those crawling over
fences, driving in gullys, altering natural runoff by moving stones,
trees and boulders to hid their "Cache" and just generally
trespassing just for the sake of sport. I am not against these
activities when done properly with landowners permission and historic
and pre-historic sites are not involved.
These opinions are my own and may not reflect the position of the
