Carolyn,

If you have Wolfe/Wolf family in Maries Co., MO., you are probably connected
to the Osage Co., MO Wolfe's. They came from Hawkins Co., TN to Osage Co., MO
in about 1840 or there after.

This info was sent to me by Sharon Wakefield, another Wolfe researcher. I
believe it comes from Wayne Wolfe's research, unfortunately now deceased of
Osage Co., MO. This survey was taken 4-6-1986. I hope it helps and it's not
too out dated.

WOLFE FAMILY CEMETERY

Osage County, Missouri, Crawford Twp. T44 N/ R7W SEC 23
state Road "N" & "J." Private lane about 200' south of county road 244. Two
gates, 4 wheel drive road, 1 mile to old Wolfe farm. Walk across branch
behind barn and climb about 370 steps up fence row. Cemetery is in property
corner fence.

A small cemetery, 5 stones, 4 footstones, and 1 rock stone. Well fenced with
iron with gate. Vinca ground cover. Not maintained.

Listing starts at gate and works to far end:

Row 1: WOLFE, Thomas.............1874-1955
WOLFE, Bridget..............1840-1912
WOLFE, Nicholas............1833-1906
WOLFE, Ida B.................1884-1884
MILLER, Mary F...............1861-1883
WOLFE, Sarah.................1822-1856

Outside fence in line with Stone 1 (as you face Stone 1) Rock Stone, no
initials.

(This is not a cemetery to visit in spring, summer, fall. I picked 25 wood
ticks off me afterwards. Signed _? Flippo.)

**********
There is a photo of the upright Tombstones on this page but you can't see the
inscriptions. I will e-mail that to you privately if you'd like a copy.

The Mary Miller buried there may be the daughter of my gggrandfather Isaac
Miller and his 3rd wife Mary Wolfe. I have a birthdate from Pension papers
that states she was b. Apr. 3, 1855 but not sure which is correct.

Nicholas Wolfe m. Bridget McCune. Nicholas had a sister name Sarah and I'm
not sure who Thomas Wolfe is. Probably the son of Nicholas and Bridget. I am
wondering if your Nicholas is the son of Thomas Wolfe b. 1874.

Please make sure you receive permission to enter the property. I have no idea
who owns the land now.

If you ever connect and happen to visit the Cemetery, please share any photos
you might take with me. I would really appreciate it and be more than happy
to pay for prints and postage.

Sincerely,
Shirley Miller Dunn
