I hope that someone will be able to help me. I find the following family
in the 1880 census:
George H. Manhart, Laborer, born about 1818 in Bremen, both parents born
in Bremen
Anna A. Manhart, wife, born about 1822 in Pennsylvania, both parents
born in Pennsylvania
Rebecca Manhart, daughter, born about 1859 in Pennsylvania
Susan (or Susanna) Manhart, daughter, born about 1860 in Pennsylvania
John Manhart, son, born about 1861 in Pennsylvania
Jacob Manhart, son, born about 1864 in Pennsylvania
The 1900 census has Rebecca and Susan living with their widowed sister,
Mary Shock. I didn't find them in the 1810 census.
Also not found in Mason County Illinois Death Records or Estate Files
are Mary's husband Jefferson Shock and her son Lucas Shock.
I have written to what I understood to be the main Sedalia cemetery.
They found no records for any Manhart or Shock.
I would very much appreciate help in finding some or all of them in some
other Pettis County cemetery. They were Pennsylvania Dutch if that
helps.
Thanks very much for your time.
Alison
