Hi Judy..nice to hear from you again..The information from Familysearch.org
showing the marriage of Preston DERRY to Lucinda LAINBAUGH is an error. This
Preston DERRY/DERREY is found in the Rockingham County Virginia marriage bond
records asPreston DERROW marrying Lucinda LENEBAUGH(which is actually
LINEBAUGH)..I sent for both Leton/Leaton DEREY's and for Preston's Civil War papers.
There were affadavits in them regarding each other showing they Were brothers.
I am in contact with two different researcher Cousins, One is a DERROW, and
the other is DEREY. I know that Preston died Dec 1884, as indicated in his
Civil War papers. No I don't think we are of the same line...could find none of
mine from Mercer County Missouri, nor any connection to the other DERRY family
in Atchison County Missouri during the period 1872 to 1898, where I find ours
