Hello Wayne!
Oh, unfortunately it doesn't sound like that is the Henry Karlmeier I am
looking for. The one I am looking for must have been 36 when he left for the
States. He was born November 29th 1830. His brother Friedrich Wilhelm who we
assume might have also moved to the US (but so far we have not proven that)
was born in 1828. Prussia would be right as a birth-place though and Lippe
is not too far from there either.
Of the entries for Kalmeier's in Franklin County was there a Friedrich
Wilhelm (or whichever americanized variations of that like Frederick?)?
Thank you for taking the time to help me out!
Have a nice day! Martina

Dear Martina,
The 1880 Census for Boulware Township, Gasconade County, Missouri (MO) has
an entry for a Henry Karlmeier, age 29 (birth approximately 1851), Farmer,
Single, White, Male, Head of Household. His Father's birthplace is listed
as Prussia and his Mother's birthplace is listed as Lippe. Gasconade County
is the next county immediately West of Franklin County. I had no other
entries for Karlmeier/Carlmeier in the state of Missouri. There were a
number of other entries for Kalmeyer in Franklin County; but not for a
Henry. Does the age and place of birth for the above individual match up
with your Heinrich Christoph Karlmeier?
There is a Kallmeyer family in Boeuf Township, Franklin Co, MO, in 1870
Census from Hanover (Germany?), Wm. 43, Mary 43, Mary 17, Franz 15, Henry
12,(all born Hanover), August 6, Fred 3 (both born Missouri), Franz 73 (born
Prussia).
I really have not found too many possibilities in Missouri for this name
combinations. Let's try these to see what you think.
Sincerely yours,
Wayne Johnson
