I notice that someone has sent a map showing the location of this cemetery.
If you have anyone that can read a topo map well, you may be in luck. My
husband and I both dowse for graves. He also is trained in land surveying.
We have discussed what you might try after reading the posts. Given that
you have an approximate location of the cemetery, dowsing is not a bad idea.
Using a map of the area (or the topo map I mentioned before) and some
surveyor's flags or just some simple brightly colored rope, you can dowse
for the graves and mark areas that you've dowsed or searched. Although it
may take some time, it is possible. If it is a cemetery with several
burials (preferably quite a few), that gives the dowser a better chance of
finding the area. Individuals that 'hunt' for cemeteries on a regular basis
are familiar with land areas that are most likely to have once been a
cemetery. Usually, although not always, there is a hint that a cemetery was
there. A small grouping of trees in an otherwise open field, an area that
is clearer or has younger trees than the others in the area, these can tip
off an experienced 'graveyard hunter'.

Although searching an entire quarter section would be extremely time
consuming and depending on the land area quite nerve wracking, it can be
done. Patience, perseverance, careful planning and the willingness to make
the attempt are key.
