I don't know how long a drive this is for you but if it is not too much you might leave the homeowner a note with your address and/or phone number and ask if you can have permission to see the cemetery (with or without him being there).
If he replies, try to get specific directions for the easiest access to the cemetery, so you don't have to do a lot of wandering.
You could also just go to the house and if the homeowner is not there, just find the cemetery on your own after leaving a note explaining what you are doing, in case he comes home while you are there.
