Death Certificates, 1910 – 1955

Name Date of Death County City Certificate Number
Maude Scobee August 23, 1935 McDonald 26971 Request Photocopy

There might be a couple of ways.

1. If the death certificate gives the Undertaker or Funeral Home and the records are available. Their records, depending on how well kept, may show or note the grave location.

2. If there are old cemetery listings of the readable stones in the cemetery, you may or may not be able to go by a listing that shows her marker and get very close if not on her. This would mean an on site search of the cemetery and finding the graves around her. If you can find the graves leading up to her, then away from her or visa versa. By watching the dates on markers not listed, so later ones don't get in the way, you may be able to zero in on her.

Some cemeteries may allow a memorial marker somewhere in the cemetery, with proof that the person was buried there.
