Frances, I just spoke with Wrandi at the Joplin Library reference
desk, 417-624-5465, and she advised the following: The correct
spelling is Hurlbut. The index to Vol. III lists a C.W. Davis,
1854-1939, died in Nevada, MO, buried July 27, 1939 at Forest Park
Cemetery, Joplin, MO.

I scanned the WorldCat for this title and it does not appear using
several key words. If it had, you could request a inter-library loan
and if Joplin Library refuses due to a non-circulating status, they
would be able to copy specific pages/names for you, perhaps for a
small fee.
