Would some kind soul look up Philip A. Smith, CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO. /1860
who entered The Army of the United States (Union Army) from Cape
Girardeau, Mo. He was given a disability discharge from Second Regiment
Light Artillery 12/18/1863, when he was 54. His occupation was listed on
his discharge papers as carpenter.

I am researching the genealogy of the following families: Loftus
(Hughes, Hennessy, Baggot, King) Smith (Luke, Leahy, O'Connor), and
Marshall (Cavins, Baker, Jones). Centers of family activity include
Counties Mayo, Limerick, Tipperary, Ireland; St. Louis, Missouri; and
Indianapolis, In.
