Hello,
Is there someone who would do an 1840 and 1850 census lookup for me in
Greene County, Cedar County, and Webster County? Those are the three
counties my ancestor was known to live in at various times.
I am looking for John J. Mays age abt 18, born in TN, there should also be a
Thomas D. Mays age about 15, also born in TN. They would probably be living
with their father still, although they could be with a cousin named John
Daniel Mays, age about 19, also born in TN. The father's name was
probably either John Mays or Elijah Mays (I could be wrong), also from TN.
They were both born in the 1830's in White County, TN, and only 3 men
named Mays were living in that county in the 1830 census. One was still
there in the 1840 census, but he was the father of John Daniel Mays. The
other two men were gone by the 1840 census.
All three Mays men, John J, John Daniel, and Thomas D., were married in St.
Clair County, MO in the 1850's, but were never known to have lived there.
I would really appreciate the lookups.
Have a good day,
Merrie
