Ted, I thought you and any other interested parties might like to know that
Broadfoot Books of Wilmington, N.C. nows offers a Civil War research service:
http://broadfoot.wilmington.net/ResearchServices.htm. They say that they can
provide Compiled Service Records, Name Lists, Unit Records, and Pension
Records for Union and Confederate soldiers. I have not used this research
service, but I have been ordering Broadfoot books for my library for years,
and the company is a class act, using acid-free paper and always doing a
beautiful job. They also stress that you can have the records you want in
days, rather than months. The next time I need National Archives type
materials, I will be trying this route. Tom Pearson
