The Civil War in Missouri: A Selected, Annotated Bibliography is a list of
books owned by St. Louis Public Library (SLPL) which can be of help to
persons researching the Civil War in Missouri generally and in the St. Louis
area specifically. The books in this list are more likely to be of help to
the student writing a research paper or the historian researching a
particular topic than they are to the genealogist, for these titles for the
most part are biographies and histories, and do not contain troop rosters or
soldier lists.

Listings provide author, title, and publisher information, the owning SLPL
department and call number, and a note on the book’s contents.
