As a descendent of Judge Henry Mayo's so Henry Jefferson Mayo and grand-son William Phelps Mayo, I would very much like to hear from anyone regarding the below info, where Judge Mayo and his parents were originally from, and any further info on wives.
*****info came from 8/2000 postings at below site*****

>According to Paxton's Annals of Platte County, it lists a Judge Henry B. Mayo who came from KY in about 1841 and died in 1864. It lists his wife Mary McGuire and 6 children, sons being Henry Jeff, George W., and Jackson J. It makes no reference to another Henry B. in his line.<
2nd posting:
>Henry Jeff. (may be Jeffery or Jefferson), married 1st,Jan. 3, 1850, Mary E. Shackelford, who died, and he married Sept 20, 1854, Ruth j. Phelps.
Words written by Paxton...
"My Mayo was a man of good education and, in some respects, remarkable brilliance. He wrote and published some excellent poems. But he was addicted to the cup. Yet he threw his whole soul into the cause of temperance, and
labored faithfully for the Good Templars. He went west and died, leaving a son Richard, who married Laura Mason."
There is also a Henry J. Mayo (ii) listed as a child of Jackson Mayo. No DOB listed for him but child before him was born in 1860.<
best regards,
Bob
