Charles East, published by Simon & Schuster in this version from 1991.
History / Autobiography / Women's studies, running 626 total pages with
photographs. Softcover & costing $15.00. This is an excellent account of a
young girls life during the Civil War. Sarah is 19 when she starts writing
her diary in 1862 & a double dose of tragedy hits her family right at the
beginning of the account. I found that at first, I did not care for Sarah,
but while I began to get more into the diary, you see all kinds of inner
sides to this woman & my perspective changed. Sarah lived from 1842 - 1909.
