I am seeking information about Benner family members who were in Vernon
County MO in 1859 and 1860. The daughter of George W. and Nancy Hager
Benner, Maria E., married Chapman H. McDonald in June 1859 in Vernon
County. In the 1860 census the mother Nancy Benner and 14-year-old son,
Daniel Benner, were living with Maria and Chapman McDonald in Vernon Co. In
1870 Nancy and Daniel were still living with the McDonalds but in Henry
County Mo. We have been unable to account for either George W. Benner or
his son David Benner and his family in Missouri or any place else. We
wonder if they were killed in the border raids, before or during the Civil
War, either as civilians or members of the one army or the other. Any
information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Doug Burke
