Can anyone help me locate info re Company C, 4th Missouri cavalry. My
GGGrandfather AUGUST FREDERICK MEYER of St. Louis, served in this unit as an
ambulance driver, from enlistment Aug 12, 1861 till Mustered out Oct 24, 1864
at St. Louis. He was injured (allegedly while foraging) when his horse was
shot from under him. Probably while returning from a foray into Northern, GA.
He spent time in the U. S. Washington General Hospital, Memphis, TN during
May and June 1864 (May 10 -"?") according to the Company Muster Rolls. Muster
rolls. He died at the Danville, IL Soldiers Home Mar 12, 1929, and is buried
at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis.

I am seeking any info regarding him, and his unit.

Thanks.
Bob
