i have a question regarding civil war in missouri and my 2ndgreatgarndfather.
he was charles e. starkweather enlisted at st.joseph,mo 1863
believe 42nd regiment was aol several times, anyway i have received his
muster in
records,which don't tell me much about him. But according to national
archives in DC he never filed for a pension.

was this common among missouri soldiers?
any help or suggestions will be most appreciated
