GREEN AND CHRISTIAN COUNTIES COMPANY HOME GUARD INFANTRY.

Organized in June, 1861, services accepted by General Lyon, and preformed
various duties in Green, Christian, and adjoining counties. A portion of the
Regiment was ordered to Springfield, MO , for picket and scout duty, while
other portions participated in the battle of Wilson's Creek August 10, and
continued service until 17Aug1861 when the Regiment was disbanded.
