Hello, my GGrandfather, John W. Cox, b. 1828, participated in the Civil War.
According to the 1860 AR. Census, he and his family - Wife: Almarinda Susan
(Johnson),b. 1830, Sons: William, John, Josephus and James. Almarinda
possibly was born in Mo.
John W. Cox was killed early in the Civil War, 1862? .... out of Little
Rock, AR. Almarinda, and her 5 children, now George W., b. 1862, leave and
go back to the family Cox farm in Rome, Floyd Co., GA.
I am trying to find what Battle John W. Cox may have fought in out of
Arkansas. I do not know what flag he fought under.
Could you please give me some direction as to how I might locate any
information?
Thank you ...... Janet~Texas
