Wondered if anyone knew of a book I could purchase about Hillsboro's History
in the late 1890's/early 1900's. I'm particularly interested in knowing 'who
entered what' in the Hillsboro Fairs.

I have a photo of my great grandmother, 'all-decked out', standing in front
of "chicken cages". It was suggested that this photo may have been taken at
the Hillsboro Fair, since labels/tags were attached to the cages, as though
they were 'entries'.
Does anyone know anything about this?

Pierre Clerc, (my great grandfather), during the late 1890's/early 1900's,
used the address, of Hillsboro Poultry Farms, on his manufactured poultry
products; eg: "Clerc's Specific", a cure for chicken diseases.

The best I can tell, he rented his property...and that it was in Hillsboro,
but in or near Victoria. In the 1907 Hillsboro Directory, it lists him as
Mfg of Poultry and Stock Food. AND -I've wondered if those chickens were his
entry....

Thanks, Kay -FL
