Rhonda, no apology needed, not off topic and an interesting article. By the
way speaking of disease killing Civil War Soldiers.....
My ggg/grandfather Elbert A. Grisham (Grissom) who I just discovered served
in the CSA -4th Missouri Infantry is thought to have died of all things
measles. That is just a family story passed down, I have yet to document
whether or not he died from battle wounds or in fact the measles. However,
I was struck by the possibility of such a harmless sounding disease being
the death of a grown man. Medicine has come a long way since 1862.
