Alice

I went to the Civil War Soldiers and Sailors website at

http://www.itd.nps.gov/cwss/

I searched for Yelkin and found John Yelkin served in the 14th Regiment
Missouri Home Guard Company D and in Company K, 5th Missour State Militia
Cavalry.

It shows "Remer" Yelkin served in the Company G, 2nd Regiment Kansas Cavalry
and "Riner" Yelkin served in Hopkins' (2) Indpt. Batt'y, Kans. L. Art'y.

The Artillery unit was attached to the 2nd KS Cavalry. Also, the 2nd had
several name changes and was assigned part of the time to southwest
Missouri.

If you click on the regiment name next to your soldier's name you will find
a history of the regiment if they have one.

Ted
