Hello: Mo CW
I have some ancestors on My Grandfather's side that
were were in the Cival War and I have not been able to
locate.
William Lafayette Crane Sr. born in New York
1773--located in Missouri 1830's in Richwood TWSP
Miller County Missouri.
Last will and tes.(of Sr) made in Houston Missouri
Texas County Missouri Nov 8 1868. This is a man born
1773. ? Same person?
"Died trying to return home from Southern States"--
"Disappeared when Price Raid through Central Missouri"
(another statement by Judge Clyde Lee Jenkins
publisher of 3 history of Miller County Missouri
History Books).
The SR William L. was Married to Rachel Hensley and
had following children:
George Washington Crane b 1841//William Lafayette
Crane Jr b1842//
Rebecca Ann Crane b1843//John Crane b1844//Brumley
Henry Crane b1849//Mary Melissa b1851//Jeremiah M
Crane b1859.
We have info that --George Washington Crane --William
Lafayette Crane Jr--John Crane--Brumley Henry
(Buck)served in the C W .
All in Union Army" Not sure of the rest of family
service.
Info We have William Lafayette Crane Jr. "Disappeared
never to be seen again nor could He be found by His
Comrades." Beleived to be killed by persons unknown
the day following His discharge from the Union Army
--He received His final bonus at an encampment
situated in the state of Arkansas. (No idea where
that was)
His wife Sarah Ann Hensley re-married in 1867.
Some dates conflict but the stories seem to be the
same. When was Price's Raid in Missouri?
Notice the age of William L Crane Sr. --when Last will
made in Houston Missouri (95)? "Trying to get back
home from the southern states."
Also William L Sr. married to Rachael Jane Hensley
and then William L Jr. married to Sarah Ann Hensley. (Related?)
