LIGHT SKIRMISHING ERUPTS NEAR ARROW ROCK ON OCTOBER TWELFTH 1862

On the 12th of October in 1862, the community of Ozark, Missouri
becomes the scene where a federal expeditionary force decides to
jump off. These soldiers were headed into Yellville in Arkansas,
but needed to take a break.

Their military mission had lasted for only seven days, but it be
came a foiled journey.

On the 12th of October there was some light skirmishing near the
area known as Arrow Rock. This Missouri region was known to have
elements of southern sympathizers who thoroughly enjoyed irrita-
ting any northerners who dared cross their path.
