Danke fur die Blummen. "Die Gedanken Sind Frei" (Thoughts are Free)
is/was the anthem of the German Free Thinkers. It has probably been
around since the early nineteenth century. I suspect it was brought to
Missouri by the wave of immigration following the failed socialist
revolution of 1848. I am sure it is in the public domain, so you may
share it with anyone you wish.

If you do an Internet search (Yahoo, Google, etc) you should find several
sites with the lyrics. They lyrics I gave are those commonly used by
mainstream, liberal religious churches.
