Re: Tulare CA. I have been to the Tulare library as my grandfather's
family settled there in the late 1800's. I found the volunteers there
to be extremely helpful. In many cases these volunteers to be very
helpful. I also went to the graveyard of my ancestors, in Tipton,
Tulare Co.and the employee there helped me find our gravestones, this
was about 15 years ago. I receive their quarterly bulletin called
"Los Tulares", and it is excellent, very well done. You could find how
to order that quarterly at: www.tularecountyhistoricalsociety.org. I
believe you could also find folks in that organization who could be
helpful. Sorry to inject all this detail, but I just had to speak out
because this organization has been exceptional in their help to me in
my research, and I live out of state. The one in California I have
struggled with is Los Angeles County, impossible to get accurate help
there without going in person.
