James, I believe the Walter Bellah referred to in the book is Judge Walter
Bellah (s/o Walter Bellah, Sr) m Elizabeth Thomas (d/o Ephraim Thomas &
Catherine Teal, for whom Thomasville was named). Children of Judge Walter
Bellah & Elizabeth Thomas:
1. Emilia Bellah m Jesse Huddleston (after the death of her sister Rachael)
2. Rachael Bellah m Jesse Huddleston
3. Martha Bellah m William Buford
4. John Alfred Bellah m Fatha Perkins
5. Catherine Teal Bellah m Martin Van Buren Griffith
6. Alpha O Bellah m Sophronia McWhirter
7. Mary Jane Bellah m William McKelvey
8. Elizabeth Bellah
9. Andrew Jackson Bellah m Nancy Overton
10. Paulina Bellah m Thomas Johnson Humphreys, Jr

Much of this family is buried in the Bellah Cemetery near Thomasville.
