Okay, how on earth did they decide what territory if none of the
members were found there?

I have the deed filed in St. Francis, AR in 1820:

"KNOW YE that in pursuance of the Acts of Congress appropriating and
granting land to the late Army of the United States passed on and since
the sixth day of May, 1812, MARY STICE DAUGHTER & THE OTHER HEIRS AT
LAW OF SOLOMON NETTLES DECEASED, having deposited in the General land
office a warrant in THEIR favor, numbered 23259 there is granted unto
the paid MARY STICE daughter & other heirs at law of Sol. Nettles late
a Private in Ramsey Compay of the first Regiment of Riflemen a certain
tract of land containing One hundred Sixty acres being....."

The next time the family is mentioned is in court records in Madison
Co., MO:

This is confirmed in Book A-1 Madison Co., MO. Page 67

Feb. Term of the Court, 1824, 1st day

The court does appoint Amos Justice Guardian for William NETTLES and
Dorcass NETTLES infants of Solomon NETTLES deceased under the age of
fourteen years, and at the same time come Shadrack NETTLES and Matilda
NETTLES infants of the said Solomon NETTLES deceased over the age of
fourteen years & chose Amos JUSTICE their guardian and at the same time
the said Amos JUSTICE guardian as aforesaid entered into bond with
security in the sum of $300.00 conditioned as the law required.

What am I missing? I haven't been able to find Amos and Margaret
NETTLES JUSTICE's marriage ... where or when, and I haven't been able
to find Solomon and Margaret's NETTLES marriage [had to be ca 1800] and
I haven't even been able to find John D. JUSTICE and Sarah NETTLES mar.
[bef 1824]....

This is one of my brick walls!

Thanks for any help!
