Pat,
Is this the info you have for 1880
MO, Oregon, Lynn
J.B. PUTNAM self 1818 SC
Larena PUTNAM wife 1820 TN
Larena PUTNAM g dau 1868 TN
Martha J. PUTNAM g dau 1870 TN
Edward S. PUTNAM g son 1873 MO
Nelson B. PUTNAM g son 1874 MO
James H. PUTNAM g son 1876 MO

1870 MO, Oregon, Piney
James PUTNAM 33 1837 TN FmLbr.
in household of James & Nancy KIDWELL

Think that this might be father of children in about 1880 grandparents household.
>From break in place and time with the children's births, I'd say there were two wives
that might have passed or it may be two sets of grand children from different son's families.
The James PUTNAM shown in 1870 might be one father.

I'm wondering if your SHURRON (SHARRON/SHANNON) might be one of the
possible daughters of Jabel or J.B. PUTNAM and Larena's marriage, what do you think?
Any clue who parents of your Oliver Hardy SHURRON are/were???
Just some thoughts! Always love a mystery!
Beth

P.S. No, I didn't locate graves, just saw a bunch of J PUTNAMs in the census in Lawrence Co., MO and wondered
if they might be connected.

I would watch for the name Benjamin if I were you and this above 1880 family is the right Putnam that your Shurron is living
with.

Jabel Putnam was first in South Carolina, then in Obion and Weakly Co. in
Tennessee, then I think I found them in Arkansas, then by 1870 they were in
Dunklin Co., MO. The land records show that he registered for land in
Oregon Co. in 1862 and he shows up there on the 1880 census. I think some
of the sons stayed in Oregon Co. Oliver Hardy Shurron was raised by them.
How interesting that you found Putnams in Lawence co., MO, because that is
where my mother's family is and where my Dad was raised too. It seems that
I found burial records for some in Marionville. Did you find a burial for a
Jabel Putnam in Lawrence Co. or someone with a similar name? I'll have to
dig out what I have and see if I can find whether he used another name, but
I don't remember one.
Thanks for the congrats. It's always nice to find something
