Lanita,
I just took a look at the BLM site. Assuming their records are correct, it
appears that there were several thousand sales of public land in a number of
different Missouri Territory counties in 1819, but no public land sales in
prior years, and no sales in 1820. They started again in 1821. All the
sales I saw were for 160 acres or more.
