Dear Deborah,

The 1890 (not 1896) city directory shows a Thomas Grimmer (he is a cook) and a Thomas Grimmer, Jr. (laborer) at 1918 Vandeventer. At the 1513 Glasgow address there is a
William Hill, hostler, in 1890. Could not find a listing for a William Dinham nor for a Durham, but again this is 1890 not 1896.

If no one is able to help you with a city directory for 1896, I believe that the Mormon church has the city directories on microfilm.
