I must disagree with Charles with regard to his explanation of Native
American and suggesting a political connotation. In my 60 + plus years,
Native American always meant to me, American Indian and/or a descendant there
of. Never, ever was politics associated with the term. I never questioned
whence they came from....I just knew that the "Indians" were the first to
occupy the land.
