Betty, congratulations on your authorship, the books sounds fascinating.

List, to my knowledge is there no board that coincides (or gateways) to this list. Anything sent to the list goes into the archives and makes it a permanent record unless I deem it improper and delete it. Improper would be solicitation, sexually explicit behavior, rude behavior, harassment, etc. If anyone ever has a problem with a post someone makes please come to me first. I will on occasion permit a non-list member post to the list, when I do I send them an e-mail that any reply that they receive will be in the archives and not sent to them directly. This list is set-up to reply to the list only and not the poster. I hope this isn't clear as mud, hehe.

It's late and I'm tired but I wish everyone luck with your hunting and thank you for the warm reception.

Sincerely,
Jan Buker
List Admin

Hello, Jan Buker,
Thank you for your e-mails re. the MO-Veterans. I have been
receiving quite a few "listings" (if this is what they are called) and
find this a friendly exchange. Last year (April 7th, 2005) I submitted
about two typed pages of information about my dear dad, who was a
soldier in World War One and mysteriously changed his name from Ruskin
Louis Friton, born in St. Louis, MO, to Thomas Burton, born in
California. He vanished forever from his loving family, married my
mother, a Red Cross nurse, and moved us out to Los Angeles, where I grew
up. I've never solved this mystery but was able to find his family in
St. Louis, who have been helping me in my sleuthing. I've even written a
book about this true story: A Changed Man; An Old Army Mystery ,
published by Trafford Publishing, in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada,
where I now live.
I discovered today that MO-Veterans has recorded my two-page
account in their Archives>2005-04> 1112904129. I'm delighted. I am not
up to speed as to your website and how researchers are able to post
their notices on something of an internet bulletin board. I believe this
is a comparatively new feature (?) I don't know the RootsWeb rules,
which, among other things, probably limit the length of the notice. I
couldn't find your website (Just RootsWeb.com) with any instructions.
It's quite possible, also, that since my listing is already in place in
the Archives, that I do not have the option of a further listing on
your "bulletin board" Sorry I'm not better informed about all this,
but I'd much appreciate any information and or suggestions you might
give me.
Regards,

My rules are simple.....Obey RootsWeb rules and please do not SHOUT or Flame anyone, all have opinions. Since this is a roll call list I believe there won't be too many discussions going on.
